Punk originated in the seventies as a dissonant, irregular revolution against common current of popular culture music. Bands like Sex Pistols, the Offspring, and Pere Ubu boosted punk back in the mid-1990's. This time the mesh of lively, simple rock with catchy popular melodies hang around on the MTV. Today, soi-disant punk pop is a key piece of puzzle in the sphere of chart music. These 10 music tracks are fine starting points to get to know pop punk.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's unbounded endeavour to offend any grown ups in the locality, this album featured a model clothed as an enema au pair on the cover. The punk pop inside is adolescent and catchy with the massive hit song “Don't Leave Me.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls can play punk pop, as well, and this album is a profuse proof of the fact. The group styled after the rock band Ramones with every member taking the name Donna. Misery Business Download to listen to it.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

Good Charlotte blasted into the top ten of the pop album chart. It's filled with stories of college and problem mothers. The smashing #1 song is “Girls & Boys.”

4. Green Day - American Idiot

After declining from their mid-90's peak of popularity, Green Day retreated from live performances to put together punk rock's 1st opera. Though the American band was unsure about their fanclub's attitude to Dearly Beloved, it to be an American rock classic topping the charts and winning an award for Best Rock Album of 2004.

5. The Lemonheads - Ceiling Fan in My Spoon

The Lemonheads' lead singer Evan Dando is the only punk musician to be known as a real teenager heartthrob. Along the way the band recorded some breathtaking songs, too, featuring “Ceiling Fan in My Spoon”, “Download Paramore” and “Rest Assured”.

6. The Offspring - Not the One

The Offspring a rock band were one of the true punk renascence bands from the 90's. Time and again their songs melted with heavy rock and heavy metal, but their very best music is pure punk. “Session” and “Genocide” are far beyond what is usual on this DVD.

7. Rancid - Daly City Train

Rancid a lot like late 70's classic punk as the Clash. They also use the of street punk in almost all of their albums.

8. Simple Plan - Still Not Getting Any…

This French group from Canada emerged in the spot in October with their record album Grow Up. This 2nd album is much better and includes the hit single “I'm Just a Kid.”

9. Sum 41 - In Too Deep

The single “All She's Got” encouraged to propel this studio album into the top 20. Sum 41 introduce deep humor into many of their hits. Download When It Rains to get a feeling of what we are talking about.

10. Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)

Though they are revered as patrons of the “emo” genre, Weezer's records are also pure pop punk in style. “Undone - The Sweater Song” was their 1st popular song and then a video putting the rock band in a TV episode stimulated to make the single even more popular.
