Indymedia is a collective of independent media organizations and journalists offering grassroots, non-corporate coverage. Indymedia is a democratic media outlet for the creation of radical, accurate and passionate tellings of the truth.

The Long Island Independent Media Center project seeks to unify the voices of those that have been marginalized by the centralization of corporate-owned media institutions. We assert our right to free expression, and to the distribution of and access to truthful information. We will report and respond to news about issues in our communities, not merely consume the dominant media institutions versions of it.

Using an array of media (internet, print, radio, video, etc.) and a fresh, creative and real perspective, we can pose a viable alternative to the mainstream media.
